It was already long overdue: After Nepal, Australia and the UK now, the Federal Constitutional Court in Germany has pronounced for the third gender in the birth register.

A great success for around 80,000 intersex people living in Germany. Persons who are neither male nor female will be able to register their gender identity “positively” by the end of 2018. Previously, there was the possibility for doctors not to fill in the gender in the birth register if the baby is not clearly female or male. However, a blank space is not the same as a suitable description.

On WGAY Gesucht we expanded our previous five options (Female, Male, Trans *, Inter *, n.A.) with a “more”, which gives you 33 more choices. If you do not feel touched by this, you can also enter your personal assignment in the field “Own gender”.

We are very happy about this expansion and hope that in the future every human being will feel included and at home.
