“KILL HER SEXISM RACISM HOMOPHOBIA FIRST“ — these German screamo rockers have something to say and they say it loud! Mixing punk rock attitude with the fist-clenching power of screamo and a hardcore heart, their crude attitude has some serious legs to stand on. All crowned with a double assault of remarkable female singers! This band has done its homework. They have played festivals and opened shows for KITTIE, THE SORROW, ANBERLIN, THURSDAY, HAWTHORNE HEIGHTS, CANCER BATS & IGNITE.

As a punk rock band with hardcore influences from Berlin Kill Her First was founded 2007 in Kreuzberg, one year later, they self-released their first EP “Insidher”. Striking is the fact that the band except for the drummer, consists exclusively of women, which is unusual and rare to find especially in this genre.

Kill Her First as a band name has a historical background: In many old stories, it is always the firstborn who should be killed, but survives in the end. That’s what KHF stands for: Despite many difficulties the band has been through, they do not give up and still continue — in their own creation. With their lyrics, singer Gerox processes situations and experiences from life. It is not just about to vent one’s spleen, with many songs the band wants to encourage and motivate others to stand up for themselves.

“BORN TO BE STRONG” is their latest album, where powerful melodies, snotty guitars and rousing Screamo outbreaks each other. Loud, honest and direct, the two singers bring their anger and despair over sexism, racism and homophobia to the point.

Several articles in print media such as Visions, Soundcheck, L Mag, Siegessäule, OX, BZ, and Zitty speak for the large demand for strong women who do not mince their words. During the TV appearance at Circus HalliGalli (Pro7) their powerful DIY attitude got very visible. The band has also been able to prove itself in numerous projects such as the soundtrack of the German movie “Die Festung” (awarded with the Prize of the Jugendjury) or the Music Is My Gender Festival.

On April 27th you can meet the girls from KHF live at Cassiopeia Berlin. For the birthday show of their record company KROD (Keine Rose Ohne Dornen) Records they will open the evening. The legendary Daggermouth & label colleagues Hightower + The Dead Notes will also be there. Tickets incl. CD are available directly from Krod Records.

If that’s still not enough, you can subscribe to Kill Her First on Facebook or Instagram to get news directly from the band. On YouTube, they are also represented with numerous songs through the Hardcore Worldwide channel.
